
The Minister of Defense and National Security of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Mr. Sayid-Mohamed Yusuf Ali, accompanied by the Commander of the Somaliland National Army, Major General Nimcaan Yusuf Gaaxnuug, today officially concluded the training of six thousand (6,000) soldiers of the Somaliland National Army who were trained in the Sool Region.
The newly trained forces will be fully integrated into the existing Somaliland National Armed Forces, strengthening the country’s defense capabilities and enhancing national security. The training provided focused on military skills, national discipline, protection of civilians, and preparedness for the defense of the Republic of Somaliland.
The Minister of Defense emphasized the vital role of the armed forces in safeguarding peace, sovereignty, and national unity, noting that these newly trained troops will play a significant role in preventing security threats and countering any forces that pose a risk to the country’s security.
The Government of the Republic of Somaliland once again reaffirms its strong commitment to strengthening the National Armed Forces in order to ensure lasting security and to protect the interests and existence of the nation.
